Addressing Water Challenges by Citizen Engagement
09 - 10 October 2019 • Brussels • Belgium
Is drinking water scarce in your community or is your population at risk from flooding? Do you want to tackle the protection of water resources in your municipality with the involvement of relevant stakeholders, address possibilities for reusing water or make the challenges of heavy rain more visible? "Addressing Water Challenges by Citizen Engagement" is the topic of the POWER Conference, which will be dealt with on the basis of the POWER Digital Social Platform (DSP) via conference contributions, but also within the framework of an Industry Panel and a POWER Follower Cities Event.
The POWER Digital Social Platform is a support tool which forms an important contribution in the efforts of cities to become sufficiently water-wise and be able to face these increasing water-related challenges. POWER claims to offer an innovative and effective open source solution to excluded regions, cities and users, based on a ‘link and scale up’ strategic network effect, which is aiming at social value, scalability, transferability, society empowerment and motivation to act. Social actions are mobilized to respond to climate change with local strategies.
